Fraser Coast Outriggers!

Life Members

Welcome to the Fraser Coast Outriggers

The first outrigger canoe was bought to Hervey bay by Linus Bagley (now a club life member) after he was introduced to the sport by Keith Williams at Hamilton Island.

The club today has some 130 members, six racing canoes, a storage compound, canoe trailer and an attitude to the sport which balances a healthy competitive spirit with a fun, social environment.

Our logo, the distinctive "Whale Tail" was designed in February 1992 and immortalised into our Club trophy be Lewis Krebs in 1994.

The canoe trailer was constructed in December 1992 under the guidance of Geoff Webb with donations from local businesses. It was modified in 1996 and 1999 to take three OC6 canoes, OC1 canoes and equipment. It now allows us to travel easily to Zone regattas as a major force in our own right.

Our Mission Statement

"The Fraser Coast Outrigger Canoe Club is committed to the development of the mind and body through community participation in the sport and spirit of Outrigging"
